Georgica Pond Estate Area, East Hampton Village

Drawing inspiration from the French film "La Femme Infidele," architect Edward W. Slater created a classic gentilhommiere, which he defined as "a country house belonging to nobles who followed the king's taste but were not of royalty". In building the two-story house in the shape of a modified u, the architect created a classical symmetry that allows the outside living area to be incorporated into the site plan. Among the many stylish design elements are pickled paneling, French doors, and antiqued floors. The great room has a double height ceiling with exposed trusses for a formal but comfortable feel. The landscaping has been meticulously planned with London plain trees and espaliers, all elegantly pruned. Situated on a quiet road in the Georgica area of East Hampton Village.
